On August 29, 2023. Was organized a ceremonial awarding of certificates for P4C training participants. In the “House of Knowledge” in the premises of Secondary Gymnasium Sarajevo, a total of 27 teachers received a certificate for successfully completing the one-year Philosophy for Children (P4C) training.
The introductory words were given by SAPERE BH coordinator, M.Sc. Elmana Cerić: “We are finishing the fourth module of the TOT training Philosophy for Children (P4C). The process was quite long for the informal education of teaching staff in our country, however these certificates show that you are trained to work with children, but also with your colleagues. I hope that as trainers you will have the opportunity to give training to your colleagues. By applying the P4C method, the focus should be on the emotional and spiritual development of students, not just intellectual. This process helps to humanize education, which is also recognized by the ministry.”
Considering that the training was supported by the Institute for the Development of Pre-University Education Sarajevo Canton, the representative of the Institute, M.Sc. Sedžida Hadžić stressed the continuity of teaching staff education as an imperative for achieving better education. “We hope that after professional training you will apply these skills and knowledge in your future teaching practice. This type of education is also a contribution to the curricular reform that is taking place in Sarajevo Canton with the aim of developing teacher competencies” – said Mrs. Hadžić, senior associate for professional development of educators, teachers, professional associates.
The director of the TPO Foundation, prof. Zilka Spahić Šiljak believes that it is very important to educate future generations, however, education is not only preparation for life, but life itself. “This is evident from yesterday’s sessions where intellectual discussions can stimulate our curiosity, but also inspiration to further improve the educational process by transferring knowledge to your colleagues” – explained prof. Spahić Šiljak.
TOT trainings were implemented by the TPO Foundation with the support of the Institute for the Development of Pre-University Education Sarajevo Canton and the Ministry of Education Sarajevo Canton.
