SAPERE Training for Teachers

TPO Foundation’s Thinkerica Education Centre offers SAPERE P4C training for teachers. The training is designed according to SAPERE Institute programme from the UK and adapted to the needs of teachers in the B&H education system. The training is intended for classroom teachers, primary and secondary school teachers of humanities, social science and natural science schools, as well as school management because everyone should be a philosophical thinker to adequately respond to the needs of children and young people.

The training consists of four training sessions of three-day duration and a final exam that includes simulation of the training and taking the exam. During the training, participants will acquire knowledge and skills to apply the P4C method and become certified trainers to work with other teachers, children and young people. Certified trainers will also become part of the P4C network of international experts called ICPIC (The International Council for Philosophical Inquiry with Children). Membership in this network enables participants to participate in international conferences, write for international journals and other publications, and work with experts from around the world in designing contemporary education.

Training offers:

  • Broaden knowledge and critical thinking skills
  • Specific patterns of applying enquiry with parents and colleagues
  • Improving self-esteem
  • Discipline
  • Learning and adopting ethical norms and values
