SOCRATES CAFÉ: Invitation to participate in the third Socratic café with founder Christopher Phillips

We invite you to a series of online Socratic cafés where you will have a unique opportunity to engage in philosophical dialogue with Christopher Phillips, the renowned founder of Socratic cafés. The third session aims to explore the important question: “How can and does the misuse of social media contribute to greater gender inequality and violence against women and minorities?”

We remind everyone that all are welcome to participate in Socratic cafés. Age, gender, education, religion, nationality, sexual orientation are not important because everyone can benefit from life experience and wisdom. Those who participate in Socratic cafés share the feelings of the philosopher Socrates, which involves passionate, yet fictional, exchange of ideas.

Professor Phillips completed his master’s degree in humanities, with a focus on philosophy, at the University of California in 2000. He also holds a master’s degree in natural sciences from Delta State University. Phillips earned his Ph.D. in communications at Edith Cowan University in Australia. In 2012, he received the “Distinguished American Leadership Award.” He has also taught at New York University and the University of Pennsylvania.
