Socrates clubs

TPO Foundation, in cooperation with universities, has established Socrates clubs in Zenica, Mostar, Sarajevo and Banja Luka. The members of the clubs are students, but also all those who are fond of the Socratic methods of inquiry.

Socrates Cafés are held at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zenica, the Faculty of Teacher Education in Mostar, the Faculty of Law in Banja Luka and the International University of Burch in Sarajevo. The club members have the opportunity to initiate curiosity, compassion and openness, thereby transforming the external and internal worlds that are intertwined in every aspect. By questioning different topics using the Socratic Method, a more open society is created in which everyone has the opportunity to explore different perspectives, intending to improve oneself as an individual and member of society.

„Man simply is. Not that he is simply what he conceives himself to be, but he is what he wills, and as he conceives himself after already existing – as he wills to be after that leap towards existence. Man is nothing else but what he makes of himself.“ (Sartre)
