LOC4SOC: PROMOTION OF RESEARCH RESULTS HELD IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF HADŽIĆI

After a five-month research in the area of ​​Hadžići Municipality, the TPO Foundation presented the results in the publication “Mapping stereotypes and prejudices of adolescents towards vulnerable groups in the social community” on October 16, 2024, in the premises of Elementary School 6. mart, authored by prof. Zilke Spahić Šiljak and prof. Jasna Kovačević. The research was carried out by members of the project team: Jasna Kovačević, Mirza Kovačević, Lejla Đelilović and Nejra Džananović.

As the final manifestation within the project “Local Communities for Social Cohesion”, the TPO Foundation, in addition to promoting the results of the research, also presented the Manual “Using the Comic Book Methodology in Strengthening Intercultural Competence and Social Inclusion in Teaching” by Jasna Kovačević, Mirza Kovačević, Lejla Đelilović and Jasmin Šehović.

The final event was an opportunity to once again gather the participants of the project (teaching and professional staff of Primary School 6 March, Primary School 9 May, Primary School Hadžići, Primary School Hilmi ef. Šarić) and discuss the cooperation of schools with the local community on breaking stereotypes and prejudice. Welcome words were given by the mayor of Hadžići Municipality, Eldar Čomor, assistant director of 6. Mart Primary School, Muhamed Čović, and from the teacher’s point of view, Aida Kulenović, teacher of 6. Mart Primary School, gave an overview of the replication trainings to strengthen intercultural competences and the application of what was learned in class.

Before the discussion, the educational film “Breaking stereotypes by strengthening intercultural competences” was shown, which will later serve as didactic material for the teaching and professional staff of schools participating in the project.

Members of the teaching and professional staff participated in the panel discussion: Aida Kulenović, Lejla Fejzić, Alisa Šehić Fejzić and Merima Turajlić. The panel was moderated by prof. Jasna Kovačević. The conclusion of the discussion is that it is necessary to intensify the cooperation of the local community with schools and that the success of inclusive activities and interventions depends on the quality of this cooperation.

As a crown of learning, exchange of experience and socializing, to the participants of the TOT training, the director of the Foundation, prof. Zilka Spahić Šiljak, presented certificates of participation, and the participating schools received Seals of Interculturality, which represent a unique confirmation and thanks for strengthening the intercultural skills of teaching and professional staff as well as students.
