ETOS Initiative Project: ‘ETOS in the Classroom – The Road to a Better Tomorrow’ – The Secondary Medical School, Tuzla

Through the ETOS initiative, the TPO Foundation has awarded a grant to a project titled<strong> "ETOS in the Classroom – The Road to a Better Tomorrow"</strong>. The idea of ​​this project is to introduce the teaching staff of the Secondary Medical School Tuzla with ETOS values ​​and basic ethical principles in the form of pedagogical and methodological competences and to insist on their implementation in everyday teaching process. The project activities were realized in the space of the Secondary Medical School Tuzla, while the project coordinator was Mirza Jahić.

<strong>The main objective of the project</strong>: to develop teachers' pedagogical and methodological competences for teaching ethics, tolerance, openness and solidarity and to transfer the acquired competences to the students and thus to develop a healthy society.

<strong>Direct beneficiaries</strong>: 20 teachers who teach at the Secondary Medical School Tuzla.

<strong>Indirect beneficiaries</strong>: 1500 students from the Secondary Medical School Tuzla who are a heterogeneous group by gender, religion, nationality, age and demographic structure

<strong>ACTIVITIES HELD:</strong><br />
<strong>Activity 1. Lectures for professors.</strong> Held from 21 to 26 August 2019. Lecturers: Duška Tarade, Vanja Ivković, Zineta Dedić and Senaid Ključanin. 24 professors attended the lecture.<br />
<strong>Activity 2. Preparation and production of 35 manuals</strong> for teachers titled ''Guidelines for the Application of the ETOS values ​​in Teaching and Extracurricular Activities''. September and October 2019.<br />

<strong>Activity 3. Promotion of the Manual.</strong> During the promotion, there was a forum lecture for professors entitled ''Upbringing and Education for Human Values​​''. 25 professors attended the promotion and lecture. 30 October 2019.<br />
<strong>Activity 4. Creating 25 posters titled</strong> ''Notes on Successful Upbringing and Educational Work''. 25 posters were printed and placed in all the classrooms of the school.<br />
The seminars were met with overwhelming approval by the teachers who attended them. They point out that they are pleased that the values, the upbringing and the intangible side of the teaching process have begun to be discussed in the school. They recommended that during the winter break, the same activities be repeated to another group of teachers of the school.
