ETOS Initiative: campaign of 16 days of activism in the Franciscan Classical High School in Visoko

In the period from 01.-02, December 2022. a two-day workshop called Progledaj was held. The activity was implemented by Dragana Koprivica, a teacher at the Franciscan Classical School in Visoko. A total of 20 students participated in the activity.

The goal of the first activity, P4C philosophical questioning based on the stimulus about gender inequality, was to raise the awareness of young people about gender-based violence through dialogic questioning, by citing examples and critically looking at gender-based violence, freeing young people to talk publicly about gender-based violence, to critically they question the society they live in and possibly propose solutions in the fight against gender-based violence, to get rid of prejudices.

Through the second activity, a social worker’s lecture on violence, with a special focus on gender-based violence, young people were presented with statistical data and professional opinion on violence, as well as ways to combat gender-based violence.

The final activity, more precisely the creative workshop, messages against gender-based violence, created a book with messages, which was placed in the school hall, so that other students could also read the messages and be informed, i.e. raise awareness of the importance of fighting violence.

Feedback from participants is positive; they enjoyed learning because they freely, without fear of talking about this topic, discussed the state of gender-based violence. They concluded that it is necessary to speak publicly about this problem with the aim of preventing and reducing the rate of gender-based violence in our society. The message of the activity is: SILENCE IS NOT GOLD.
